Nokia have been and quite possibly still are one of the most influential manufacturers of mobile phones to date. Nokia made shockwaves when it announced it was shifting its smartphone strategy over from Symbian and Meego to Windows Phone 7. To date, though, we’ve only seen two Windows Phone 7 models in the Australian market; the very sexy and highly desireable Nokia Lumia 800 and the entry level Lumia 710.In the US and UK, devices like the Lumia 800 and 900 are being well received – in fact acclaimed – as quality high-end smartphones. While the 710 is aimed at more entry-level smartphone users you can tell that quite a lot of effort has gone into its design.
The Finnish manufacturer is now looking to consolidate that success with the Lumia 710. As with the Lumia 800 (and all Nokia smartphones from here on in) the 710 runs on Windows Phone 7.5; the difference is in the design and the specification. This is a phone for budget-conscious users, and therefore lacks some of the design flair of the 800.
